Ben Holloway is an accomplished singer and musician. At a very early age Ben developed accelerated musical talents both as a singer and drummer. Coming from a musical family (his mother a singer and his father a “big band jazz” drummer in the 1930’s and 40’s), Ben was exposed to music from the crib. However, because of his talent he was in demand to perform and exposed to all “the world” had to offer at an early age. Alcohol use came quickly, and at the tender age of 12, dependency and abuse became a stronghold in the youngster's life.
However, in the summer of 1974, Ben’s life was dramatically turned around when he was exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time in his life. On July 14, 1974 at 2:00am in a drunken stupor, Ben had a dream depicting the literal place of hell the Bible speaks of. Waking up in a cold sweat, he could not sleep the rest of the night. The next morning, a young Christian girl who had been sharing the love of Jesus with him, called and invited him to church. Ben did not share his experience of the night before with anyone. That same morning, at 2:00am the pastor of the church was awakened and changed his Sunday morning message to one depicting the place of hell that Ben had dreamed about. When the invitation was given, Ben ran to the altar and gave his life to Jesus Christ. During that same experience, the Holy Spirit completely and miraculously delivered him from alcohol. As Ben says, “it was if someone had turned a hot shower on above my head. It was so real that I opened my eyes and looked up to see if someone was standing over me with a garden pail full of hot water. I look back on it now and it was like the Holy Spirit had taken a tooth brush and scrubbed clean every square inch of me.”
Two years later, after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Ben received a strong call to “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.” After several years of ministry traveling around the country with Advent, a well-known contemporary Christian band, the demands of travel on a young marriage and raising children necessitated a temporary hold on travel.
The years from 1977 to the present, Ben has served in many capacities at Christian Assembly church in Madisonville, Kentucky. For many years he has functioned as an elder, teacher, evangelist, and a worship leader there.
Ben is a licensed minister and holds credentials with Worldwide Missionary Evangelism of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Since 1996, Ben’s ministry has assumed a more global direction. With his involvement in pastoral training, Ben teaches in national pastoral conferences around the world. Mexico, Malaysia, Peru, South Africa, Kenya, Honduras, the United Kingdom, the Ukraine, and Mauritius are some of the nations Impartation Ministries touches, as well as single meetings and extended meetings in the U.S.
Ben flows with a distinctive prophetic edge and ministers in a unique way with the gift of the word of knowledge. God has gifted Ben with an anointing to pray for those who have had difficulty receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Virtually everyone he ministers the baptism to instantly receives it. In a recent single meeting in Kenya, over 600 people received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in one church. Both Christian Assembly Church and Ben have been in deep renewal since 1996. Renewal meetings with Ben are almost always fun and refreshing because as he says, “most Christians are terminally serious!” His style of preaching is very positive and sends a clear message that every born-again believer has been impregnated with the “Seed of God” and the spiritual DNA of that seed has been programmed for absolute success.
Ben and Karen live in Madisonville, Kentucky. Ben’s and Karen’s son Barret and daughter-in-law Kim live nearby in Hanson, Kentucky and their daughter Tori and son-in-law Ryan live in Elizabethtown, KY.
